Administrative history
The first Advisor to Women Students at the University was appointed in 1911 to supervise the conduct, discipline and welfare of female students. In 1938 the position became Advisor to Women Students and Warden of Pembina Hall (the women's residence) and in 1951, Dean of Women. In 1976 the offices of the Dean of Women and the Dean of Men were combined to become the office of the Dean of Students.
