    Biographical history

    1839 - 1844 Hudson's Bay Company Chief Factor at Fort Garry in charge of the Red River district. Finlayson moved to Lachine where he served as an HBC Agent in the district of Montreal nearly continuously from 1844-1859, upon which time he retired.
