Incorporated in 1881. The transcontinental railway was completed in 1885. In 2021, Canadian Pacific (CP) acquired Kansas City Southern (KCS), and on 14 April 2023, CP merged with KCS to become Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC), forming a transnational rail network connecting Canada, the United States, and Mexico.
