History
Philosopher, Psychologist, 1877-1971. Dr. J.M. MacEachran joined the University in 1909 as professor and head of the Department of Philosophy and Psychology. In 1914 he was asked to act as Provost, a position which had jurisdiction over all matters pertaining to the students. As part of his involvement with the Alberta community he was a member of the governmentþs Eugenics Board from 1929 to 1965. Dr. MacEachran retired in 1945.
