The Wikipedia entry for Jesuit Joe - available online at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jesuit_Joe (accessed 26 January 2017) - describes the title character as a laconic, anti-heroic, and unpredictable Native Canadian who roams the wilderness dressed as a R.C.M.P. officer.
