Videos

This subseries consists of DVDs relating to P.L. Travers and Mary Poppins that were collected by Dr. Margaret Mackey and donated to the University of Alberta Libraries. It contains a DVD version of the original 1964 Disney live-action adaptation and Disney's dramatisation of P.L. Travers life, the 2013 movie Saving Mr. Banks.

Videos

This subseries consists of DVDs relating to Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials series collected by Dr. Margaret Mackey and donated to the University of Alberta Libraries. It contains the home video release of the 2007 live-action movie adaptation of The Golden Compass and two documentary movies about the movie and book.

Collectibles

This subseries consists of small collectibles relating to The Wizard of Oz that were collected by Dr. Margaret Mackey and donated to the University of Alberta Libraries. It contains a package of small Christmas ornaments of the Scarecrow, Lion, Dorothy, and the Tin Man. As well as McDonalds Happy Meal ornaments of Dorothy, Scarecrow, Tin Man, and the Wicked Witch. With all but the Tin Man still in their packaging.

Subseries consists of illustrations by Ian Sheldon of butterflies from the Riodinidae family.

Ephemera

This subseries consists of L.M. Montgomery and Anne of Green Gables related ephemera collected by Dr. Margaret Mackey and donated to the University of Alberta Libraries. It consists of two bags from Anne of Green Gables stores, a box for Anne of Green Gables chocolates, several pamphlets (in English, French, Japanese, and Polish), bookmarks, and stamps relating to the Anne of Green Gables centenary, a playbill, a page from a catalogue, and a TV Guide with an Anne of Green Gables article.

Subseries consists of illustrations by Ian Sheldon of butterflies from the Pieridae family.

Audio Recordings

This subseries contains audio CDs relating to the His Dark Materials series collected by Dr. Margaret Mackey and donated to the University of Alberta Libraries. It contains two sets of audio CDs, one is a dramatisation of the entire series produced by BBC, and the other is a dramatisation of The Golden Compass, featuring Philip Pullman.

Hesperiidae family subseries

Sub-series consists of illustrations by Ian Sheldon of butterflies in the Hesperiidae family, also known as Skippers. Illustrations were completed for a variety of projects.

Lycaenidae family

Sub-series consists of illustrations by Ian Sheldon of butterflies from the Lycaenidae family, also known as Blues. Some illustrations can be found in the book Acorn, John and Sheldon, Ian. Butterflies of British Columbia, Edmonton: AB, Lone Pine Publishing, 2006.

Books

This subseries consists of fiction and non-fiction books pertaining to P.L. Travers and her series of books Mary Poppins, that were collected by Dr. Margaret Mackey and donated to the University of Alberta Libraries. It contains unabridged versions of the Mary Poppins series, and non-fiction books detailing the life of P.L. Travers and the 1964 Disney live-action adaptation.

Books

This subseries consists of books relating to author Philip Pullman and his Dark Materials series of books that were collected by Dr. Margaret Mackey and donated to the University of Alberta Libraries. It contains various versions and editions of the His Dark Materials series, including a graphic novel and supplementary novels. There are also materials relating to the live-action adaptation of the first novel The Golden Compass that include activity books, game guides, magazines, and movie novelizations, and a collection of non-fiction work written about the His Dark Materials series, as well as works relating to the stage-play of the series, including a script and works on the play. This subseries consists of the following sub-subseries: His Dark Materials (1995-2015), The Golden Compass Movie Materials (2007), Other Works by Philip Pullman (1996-2000), Writings on His Dark Materials (2001-2009), and Stage Play Adaptation (2003-2004).

News

This subseries consists of newspaper clippings collected by Dr. Margaret Mackey and donated to the University of Alberta Libraries. It contains clippings relating to Thomas the Tank Engine, hieroglyphics, and general entertainment news.

Conference and University of Alberta Files

This subseries consists of materials relating to the University of Alberta and conferences there that Dr. Margaret Mackey took part in. All of which were collected by Dr. Margaret Mackey and donated to the University of Alberta Libraries. It consists of two pamphlets from the University of Alberta, one dealing with the Graduate Student Association awards night, and one detailing research at the University of Alberta. There are also materials relating to the 1995 conference "Intersecting Disciplines: Issues in Comparative Studies", including: an advertisement flyer, a program, and a paper proposal submitted by Dr. Margaret Mackey on "Cultural Diversity and Learning: Plural Narratives and Consequences for Children". It also contains a banner for "The Commercial Face of Children's Literature: The Commodification of a Classic".

Electronic Games

This subseries contains video games that relate to The Wizard of Oz and other works by L. Frank Baum that were collected by Dr. Margaret Mackey and donated to the University of Alberta Libraries. It contains a computer game and Nintendo DS game relating to The Wizard of Oz, and Shelley Jackson's hypertext story Patchwork Girl which references L. Frank Baum's The Patchwork Girl of Oz.

Ephemera

This subseries consists of ephemera relating to The Secret Garden that was collected by Dr. Margaret Mackey and donated to the University of Alberta Libraries. It is made up of three identical small sticker collections and two programs for stage adaptations of The Secret Garden put on in Edmonton, AB.

Correspondences

This subseries consists of a sample of Dr. Margaret Mackey's personal correspondences collected and donated to the University of Alberta Libraries. It contains personal correspondences relating to Beatrix Potter and Peter Rabbit, communications with publishers and colleagues, and about presentations. The correspondences are on cards, scrap paper, and email printouts from listservs. Some correspondences were sent with other materials such as articles, and media software (floppy discs).

Publisher Information and General Business

This subseries consists of materials that relate to publishing and business news, specifically focusing on Pearson P.L.C. and its subsidiaries and related groups such as Penguin Random House and Dorling Kindersley, as well as other companies such as Hewlett-Packard and Simon & Schuster. All of which were collected by Dr. Margaret Mackey and donated to the University of Alberta Libraries. The news articles are pulled from The Wall Street Journal, The Globe and Mail, The Edmonton Journal, The New Yorker, The Independent, The Observer, New York Times, website The Bookseller, as well as official press releases. These articles contain information on general business news, earnings reports, press releases, business deals, mergers, profits, and management.

Videos and Computer Software

This subseries consists videos and computer CD-Rom's relating to Anne of Green Gables collected by Dr. Margaret Mackey and donated to the University of Alberta Libraries. Contained within are VHS copies of the 1985 television mini-series and its sequels, A VHS of the 1934 film, a DVD of the 2002 animated series, and CD-Rom's for interactive computer software.

Collectibles

This subseries consists of Little Women collectible items collected by Dr. Margaret Mackey and donated to the University of Alberta Libraries. It contains a collection of paper dolls, and a sticker collection.

Receipts and Inter-Library Loans

This subseries consists of receipts and quotes, and inter-library loan requests collected by Dr. Margaret Mackey and donated to the University of Alberta Libraries. The receipts and quotes are from bookstores in Edmonton and England, and the University of Alberta. The inter-library loans were made at the University of Alberta Libraries and pertain to requests for a newspaper and materials relating Beatrix Potter and Peter Rabbit.

Electronic Games and Software

This subseries consists of electronic computer software, on CD-Rom and floppy disc, that are related to Tale of Peter Rabbit and that were collected by Dr. Margaret Mackey and donated to the University of Alberta Libraries. It contains interactive storybooks, and a demo disc from the magazine CD-Rom Today which contains a Peter Rabbit math game.

Videos

This subseries consists of DVDs and VHS tapes relating to The Wonderful Wizard of Oz that were collected by Dr. Margaret Mackey and donated to the University of Alberta Libraries. The videos relate to the 1925 and 1939 live-action adaptation, alternate takes on the original story, and TV shows that have episodes relating to The Wizard of Oz.

Catalogues

This subseries consists of various catalogues and similar materials collected by Dr. Margaret Mackey and donated to the University of Alberta Libraries. It contains catalogues for Barbie Dolls, education software, Christmas gifts, and a photocopy of a page containing a list of reviews for TV programs from the Readers' Guide to Periodical Literature.

Audio Recordings

This subseries consists of audio CDs relating to The Wizard of Oz that were collected by Dr. Margaret Mackey and donated to the University of Alberta Libraries. It contains a CD of music from early adaptations of The Wizard of Oz, and music from the musical Wicked.

Catalogues

This subseries consists of catalogues and advertisements of Beatrix Potter and Peter Rabbit materials that were collected by Dr. Margaret Mackey and donated to the University of Alberta Libraries. It contains magazine catalogues, website printouts, and handwritten lists; that detail materials such as books, clothes, collectibles (tableware, toiletries, ceramic figures, stationary), and computer software. These catalogues come from Peter Rabbit publisher F. Warne & Co., official Peter Rabbit stores, various stores in Edmonton, AB and the United Kingdom, and other sources.

Personal Files and Ephemera

This subseries consists of personal files and ephemera relating to The Wizard of Oz that were collected by Dr. Margaret Mackey and donated to the University of Alberta Libraries. It contains printouts of web articles relating to TV and stage adaptations, online catalogues and advertisements. As well as correspondences, reference searches, magazine and newspaper cutouts, and an overhead presentation.

Editorials and Other Writings

This subseries consists of various articles collected by Dr. Margaret Mackey and donated to the University of Alberta Libraries. The articles deal with how children's and other forms of literature have changed over the years (with several articles citing Peter Rabbit). Some also deal with education, and another detailing a librarian who received letters from various authors (including Beatrix Potter).

Videos

This subseries consists of video adaptations of Little Women collected by Dr. Margaret Mackey and donated to the University of Alberta Libraries. It contains both live-action and animated adaptations of the original tale in both VHS and DVD format.
