Design

The design records cover a period from 1989 to 1995. They consist of photocopies, original sketches, and handwritten notes for both costume and set design from various productions. Included in this series are the ground plans for the Strathcona Bus Barns.

Fringe Seasons

The Chinook/Fringe series constitutes the bulk of the fonds' records. They cover the period from 1982 to 1997 documenting the work of both the Chinook and Fringe eras. The records divide into seven sub-series documenting a wide range of activities concerning theatre production and operation. These categories are: Chinook/Fringe General; Fourth Fringe Entries; Fifth Fringe Entries; Posters; Program Copy and Graphics; Programs; and Publicity. Within each sub-series the record are arranged chronologically. Included in the many types of documents are correspondence, casting sheets, various original sketches and printed graphics, contact lists, press packages, production run reports, schedules, advertising copy and programs from nineteen different Fringe festivals.

Photographic Material

The photographs document the period from 1993 to 1995. They consist of thirty-six colour and black and white photographs chronologically arranged from nine identified productions. The photos document plays, promotions and drama supporters enjoying the festivals.

Production Records

These records document the period from 1981 to 1997. They are arranged chronologically and include stage manager's notes, documents concerning music and sound, Canadian Institute for Theatre Technology records, lighting and technical records, company manager records and working scripts from thirty-five plays.

Executive Files.

Series consists of 4 subseries: organizational files, correspondence, membership lists, and financial documentation. Series 1.2 (Correspondence) includes an envelope of correspondence, artwork and photography from Boris Zavgorodny, a Russian science fiction enthusiast and artist who corresponded with the ESFCAS during the 1980s.

Henry Marshall Tory fonds

The H.M. Tory fonds consists of 12 series. They are concerned predominantly with his work as President of the University of Alberta. As the first President of the University, many of the records document the creation of facilites and faculties. To this end there is legislative documentation; financial correspondence and adminstrative files; design records including corrpesondence with architects and engineers; faculty and staff records for Medicine, Agriculture, Education, Law, and Pharmacy; library and laboratory planning records; Convocation and registrations records, University communications and affiliation files; student relations records; documents relating to the First World War and Khaki University.
