The records consist of administrative, production and play development records. There are eleven series in this fonds: Administration, Development, Finanical Records, Fundraising, Production Records, Publicity, Subscription, Miscellaneous, Contracts, Oversized Items, Photogrphs. While the bulk of the records are textual, the fonds also contains production photographs, set designs, promotional materials, and posters. The files in this accession are arranged in chronological order within the separate series beginning with the administrative files. The fonds also contains the University of Alberta’s Drama 681 course materials, resumes, diaries and weekly reports by artistic director Gerry Potter from 1981 to 1992.

Information for specific occupations outside of Health and Medicine. Approximately half of the items in this series are intended for teachers, administrators or instructors in schools and colleges. It includes information from the UK, USA and Canada. There are Information bulletins from Alberta Education (Canada), the Department of Health and Human Services (USA) and the UK Department of Education and Science. there is one catalog of AIDS related teaching materials and three versions of an English as a Second Language teaching resource.

The other half of this series is for a variety of non-educational occupational settings, the majority are general and cover concerns like sharing equipment or lockers rooms with someone with AIDS. There are however two with very specific audiences, food and beverage workers and personal service (grooming) workers. there is also a single brochure that seems to be for anyone who works in downtown Vancouver B.C.

Collection

This collection contains documents and materials produced or used by Canadian Pacific Railway Unions - in particular, Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen and Enginemen - in Winnipeg between 1898 and 1968. The collection includes financial records, meeting minutes and logbooks, administrative documentation such as application forms, and cirulars and correspondence.

This fonds contains the records of the University of Alberta chemistry professor Dr. Walter Harris. He was instrumental in the modernization of the University’s successful Analytical Chemistry program. Dr Harris was acclaimed for his work in chemistry education, scientific research, and committee service.

The materials date from 1915 to 2011. The records predominately date after Harris began his career at the University of Alberta in 1946. The collection is rich in teaching materials, including a number of lectures written verbatim, an abundance of lecture slides and audio visual recordings of Walter Harris lecturing, as well as a significant amount of Dr. Harris’ research papers and supporting information. The fonds also incorporates materials related to the history of the Chemistry Department at the University of Alberta. In addition, it provides insight into Harris’ book publications with related correspondence, revisions and notes. The fonds is abundant in records relating to Harris’ work as a committee member including meeting minutes, agendas, committee reports, and correspondence.

This fonds contains an array of document types including such textual materials as notes, correspondence, talks, programs, pamphlets, articles, cards, course materials, announcements, books, and personal history information. It also contains yearbooks, plaques, certificates and newspaper clippings, as well as a variety of media types including photographs, slides, negatives, lantern slides, a 16mm film, reel-to-reel audiotapes, a VHS videocassette, a u-matic video tape, and a CD-ROM disk. The fonds geographically pertains predominantly to Canada with some materials created in the United States, and a few materials generated in countries abroad. The materials related to Europe are from international conferences or committee travels taken by Harris.

The outstanding achievement award is given to former graduates of the University of Minnesota who have attained distinction in their area of study and demonstrated outstanding leadership. It was earned by Harris for his influential work in teaching analytical chemistry and research work in hot-atom chemistry, chromatography and polarography. This certificate was awarded at the 36th Annual meeting of the Institute of Technology Alumni Association on November 2, 1973.

The contents of the accession reflect Ellen Schoeck’s research process during the creation of her book Taking Care, as well as her experience as Director of the University Secretariat, a position through which she served a number of University presidents over a period of 28 years, including Myer Horowitz. Textual records consist of Schoeck’s research materials for Taking Care, and include photocopies of articles, yearbook pages, and reports, as well as interviews and other documents related to campus housing and alumni from the 1950s until present. Photographs and film negatives are from Schoeck’s time as Director of the University Secretariat, and are arranged chronologically according to the University president in office at the time, illustrating the experience working in the senior administration office through various presidencies.

The accession consists of non-chemistry research conducted by Gordon r Freeman on a stone structure near Majorville located in South Eastern Alberta. There, Freeman discovered stones arranged by humans. One significant stone structure was identified as a widespread "Temple to the Sun, Moon and Morningstar". During the period 1980-2014, Freeman took many photos (2,000) of the temple and area. These images comprise a significant volume of the accession and were used widely in the seven volume publication: "Temple to the Sun, Moon and Morningstar". The book depicts that indigenous peoples on the Great Plains 5000 years ago had significant scientific knowledge of the motions of the lights in the sky. The records including photographs, field notes, research notes, site excavation information, presentation, conference information and presentations (namely Archeoastronomy conference 1998), correspondence and observations embody the work that led to the writing of two additional books of the site: Canada's Stonehenge (2009) and "Hidden Stonehenge" (2012).
