Без названияThe history of Western Canada would be very different if not for the development of railroads in the 1880s linking Canada east to west. Until the Second World War, most long distance passenger travel was done by rail. The railroad companies found ways to serve their passengers in their passenger cars, but also at their hotels, conveniently located at major rail destinations. Grand Trunk Pacific Railway, Grand Trunk Railway, Ottawa, Arnprior and Parry Sound Railway (OA&PS), Canadian National Railways (CNR), and Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR) all built hotels along their routes. Many of the hotels changed hands between rivals, but here they are represented together through their menu offerings.
