The Dr. Brian Llewellyn Evan fonds is a very rich and diverse acquisition of materials depicting the life and primarily teaching and research career of Brian Evans. The fonds comprises a broad scope of records comprising mainly of textual materials reflective of his teaching, research travel and role as a professor of history, University administrative functions in various roles and his involvement with the Chinese Community in Alberta.

The accession consists of 100 cm of class composites images of graduating classes for various nursing programs and years. The composites were held at B-112 (East) Clinical Sciences Building.

The records comprise the general function and activities of the University of Alberta Faculty of Medicine Occupational Health Program including:

• Occupational Health Program, including organization, support, academic activities, documented in annual reports, memos and letters.

• OHP General Teaching information including classes and seminars, masters' education offerings and continuing education programs.

• Occupational Medicine Fellowship Training Program known as the "residency" in occupational medicine.

• OHP Research with a focus on the principal sciences of the field including epidemiology, toxicology, and clinical occupational medicine.

• OHP Service Agenda aimed at meeting the expectations of program sponsors and donors including the Occupational Health Consultation Clinic that continued for at least 15 years.

• Environmental research including occupational and environmental medicine with a focus on air toxins.

Accession contains documentation collected for the purpose of the article and more (between 1979 and 1986). It contains a few original letters sent to professor Smith, clippings of unedited texts taken from various journals and, mostly, photocopies of articles from periodicals and journals related to Franco-Albertans.

Accession consists of 207 5 1/4 inch floppy disks primarily of file backups of Candas Jane Dorsey’s literary career, containing short stories, novels, poems, drafts, editing and freelance work including the titles "Poetry - A Dancer in that Country - 1985 Revision," "Black Cat," "Machine Sex: And Other Stories," "Everybody's a Stranger in Somebody's Country," and "Hardwired Angel." The Salzburg Collection is one of the most important collections in Canada for Central European law studies. It represents the original law collection of the Seminary Library of the Archbishop of Salzburg, acquired by the University of Alberta in 1965. Bruce Peel Special Collections houses the pre-1800 publications, considered rare books. The newer, post-1800 publications, which represent about half of the collection, are housed in other locations, including the John A. Weir Memorial Law Library, the Research & Collections Resource Facility, and the Humanities and Social Sciences Library.

Following the recommendations of the Tridentine Council (Tridentinischer Konzil) of 1562, the Salzburg Provincial Council (Salzburger Provinzialkonzil) established the Archiepiscopal Seminary in Salzburg (Erzbischöfliches Priesterseminar zu Salzburg) with its decree of May 25, 1579. Its first statutes were written and signed in July 1579 by the rector, Georg Würfel. The library was founded at the same time as the seminary, with books contributed by the private library of the Archbishop.

Includes 60 described files of correspondence with various archives in Canada and the UK, copies of articles, notes and research information related to railways in Canada and the UK. Also includes 15cm of described photographs comprising images of railway lines, railway, construction and trains in Canada including images of the first train into Edmonton AB (1902).
