When the pamphlet is fully unfolded, there is a poster on the back that reads “I have always imaged that paradise will be a kind of library” which is a quote by Jorge Luis Borges.

Bingo Gold Mines was one of the first Canadian mining companies to be convicted of tampering with gold samples. They were convicted of fraud in 1925 for salting ore samples with gold to encourage investors to buy stock in the gold mine.”

The medal pinned to the soldier's chest closely resembles and is possibly the Queen's South Africa Medal, the campaign medal awarded to those who served in the Boer War.

Reverend Joseph Hugonard and Mr. George Harrison, sitting on the left are identified by Rev. Salamon. One of three (3) prints made in 1978 by Omer Lavallée, Archivist of the Canadian Pacific Archives. Lavallée sent the prints to Reverend G. C. Salamon of the Sacred Heart Rectory, Lebret, Sask. in order to confirm their origins. Find correspondence under PE000572 (F-2-0-0-11), PE000573 (F-2-0-0-12) & PE000574 (F-2-0-0-13). According to the correspondence, the original photographs were taken in the 1880s by "Professor Buell."

The photograph depicts a large herd of sheep and two herders on horseback in the background. The creators' names, “Boorne & May,” are listed on the back of the card. They were photographers in Calgary, N.W.T., and there is handwriting on the back stating the photograph was taken in July 1892.

The card was written in Edmonton, Alberta on January 1, 1895. The photograph was taken by Charles W. Mathers in Edmonton, Alberta. The handwriting on the back reads “ À notre bonne maman avec les meilleurs souhaites de bonne année, Sérénine & Eugénie. Edmonton, Alberta, 1e Janvier 1895” which translates to “To our good mother with best wishes for a Happy New Year, Sérénine & Eugénie. Edmonton, Alberta, January 1, 1895.”

Souvenir program in accordance with the Royal Visit of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth to Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, on 25 May 1939. Published under the auspices of the Imperial Order Daughters of the Empire as authorized by the Royal Visit Committee appointed by the Moose Jaw city council.

"A Page in Canadian History" provides a brief history of Canada's relationship to the British monarchy from the time of King Edward VII, and information about King George VII and his family from his birth to his coronation on 12 May 1938.

"Moose Jaw --- The Friendly City" gives the history of and current information about the city of Moose Jaw, mentioning [with photographs]: Main Street, the Moose Jaw Auto Park, Crescent Park, the Natatorium [a geothermal mineral pool/spa referred to as a health institute], and the Moose Jaw Wild Animal Park. Additional mention [without photographs] is made of numerous sport and recreation facilities, industry, churches, and various civic works projects.

The program also includes an excerpt from the winning essay of a children's essay contest, a list of presentations and timed events held in accordance with the visit, a map of the city plan of Moose Jaw issued by the Moose Jaw Board of Trade, "Important Information" and "Program Highlights" for attendees, and advertisements.

PE002232 - Annual Banquet and Dance of the Northern Alberta Old-Timers Association programs; Edmonton (Alta.), 1931-1935

Three programs for the "Annual Round-Up Banquet and Dance" held at the Macdonald Hotel in Edmonton (Alta.) by the "Northern Alberta Pioneer & Old-Timer's Association." All three bear an identical illustration of the "Old-Timers' Cabin at Exhibition Grounds, Edmonton" on the front and contain a "Toast List," a menu, and lyrics to a song on the back. The 1931 and 1932 programs have "Red River Valley," and the 1935 program has "Old Friends." Menu items are themed to Alberta locations, such as "Tofield Noodles" and "Wetaskiwin Potatoes."

Publishers are John Lovell & Son, Montreal, 1881. The cover is a dark green with gold writing, as well as drawings of plants and bugs. Cover itself is very thin and delicate. Inside is a pull-out map titled "Public Lands, also its Geographical Relation to the British Islands." Book contains 19 pages describing the new route from Europe to the interior of North America. Includes a page which lists the Board of Provisional Directors for the company, as well as its address.

Small, bound notebook with graph paper and a red cover, advertising for the Great-West Life Assurance Co. Front inside cover, centrefold and back cover of the book are stamped with statistics about the company. There are a few handwritten notes inside, including two short love poems.

PE004720 - Souvenir Royal Alexandra Hotel Guest Book from 1915

Royal Alexandra Hotel Guest Book from 1915.  Blue paper cover with the name of the hotel letter-pressed in gold ink on the front, and an advertisement for Blackwoods Dry Ginger Ale and Blackwoods Aero-distilled Drinking Water printed in black ink on the back cover. Inside the front cover is an advertisement for The Princess candy store.  Inside are forty (40) pages of glossy white paper bordered with a repeating maple leaf pattern printed in pale blue ink.  The left page is usually an advertisement for a local business, with the opposing page giving information and an image for a local Winnipeg attraction.  “This book designed and compiled for and with the approval of the Royal Alexandra Hotel by G. E. Webb” and printed by Sulman Bros. Ltd in Winnipeg.

Book titled: 1905-1955 After Fifty Years Mendham. Book contains 16 pages detailing the beginnings of Mendham and its progression over 50 years. Contains stories, (including one in German), poems, b&w photographs of life in the village, and advertisements of supporters of the book. Cover is a dark yellow, and contains a small b&w photograph of the village on the front. Inside the front cover is a forward from the Mendham Teachers and Pupils. The inside back cover notes it’s for autographs, though this particular book’s autograph page is blank. Book has been dedicated to the brave pioneers of the prairies.

Both notebooks include four pages of facts and testimonials about Holland Twine. The second book includes hand-written notes on hours worked and tools purchased.
