A pamphlet titled “Phosphorus” by Dr. J.D. Beaton, Chief Agronomist. The pamphlet is from Cominco Ltd in Calgary, Alberta. The pamphlet is marked as Number 28 and was published on December 30, 1975. On the cover of the pamphlet, there is a bubble map illustrating the role of phosphorus in crop production. The pamphlet provides information about the importance of phosphorus in crop production and covers topics such as the properties of phosphorus, phosphorus placement for cereal crops, phosphorus fertilization of corn, and residual phosphorus.

Receipts for purchases made by Donald McFadden at various authorized Esso dealerships and service stations. Bundles appear to be organized by dates around a particular excursion, and consist primarily of "Imperial Oil Limited Esso-Matic Invoice(s)" with other receipts attached. Includes a set of punched Esso credit card receipt stubs which have been stamped "PAID" by the Royal Bank of Canada. Three of the stubs are marked with the slogan "Put a Tiger in your Tank."

A brochure titled “Flax Weed Control Guide” issued by May & Baker Ltd. in Calgary, Alberta. The brochure advertises two chemicals sold by May & Baker, ‘Buctril’ M for “Broad-leaved weed control in flax,” and Asulox F for “Wild oat control in flax.” The brochure contains various photographs and illustrations of different plants the chemicals can be used to eradicate, and also provides information about how to use each chemical and how to optimize their use. The year “1977” is handwritten on the cover page.

A brochure advertising Treflan, an herbicide for controlling the spread of the weed Green foxtail. Treflan is a product from the company Elanco in Calgary, Alberta. The brochure outlines the steps for using Treflan and includes illustrations of the process. On the back of the brochure, there are testimonials from farmers in Manitoba who have used the product, as well as a testimonial from Dr Elmer Stobbe from the Crop Science Department at the University of Manitoba. The year 1977 is handwritten on the cover of the brochure.

A collection of meeting minutes from the Regional Co-ordinating Committee meetings. The minutes range from December 4, 1968, to December 6, 1969. The locations of the meetings are listed as Calgary, Alberta, and the International Inn in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Each document lists the date, location, and the names of people present for the meeting, and provides details about the topics discussed. Each document also includes copies of reports or supplemental materials mentioned in the minutes. Some of the discussion topics for the meetings included provincial reports, various motions, regional minimum prices, and promotion and merchandising.

Outlines the former Prime Minister's socialist and communist policies and tendencies, and includes income and expense statements, event posters, newsletters, articles (opinion pieces), political cartoons, calls to action, and duplicates and photocopies of book chapters and other printed materials.

The original manuscript for Prairie Manna: A Brief History of the United Church of Canada in Southern Saskatchewan during the Thirties by [R.] A. Collins. The manuscript was finished in March 1962, and at the time the author was part of the Bowness United Church in Calgary, Alberta. The purpose of the essay is to document and highlight the contributions made by the United Church of Canada to various communities in southern Saskatchewan. The author gathered information from numerous different sources about the United Church of Canada and also provided information on southern Saskatchewan's historical and economic background.

A 1926 Riley & McCormick, Limited catalogue titled “Cowboy Equipment Harness Saddles Catalogue No. 10.” The catalogue is from 1926 and the company was located in Calgary, Alberta. The catalogue provides instructions for ordering products or cancelling orders. The rest of the catalogue consists of illustrations of various products sold by Riley & McCormick, Limited along with short descriptions of each. The products listed in the catalogue range from saddles, to leather chapps, to hats, to harnesses. The final two pages of the catalogue are tearaway order forms that can be sent to the company.

Includes Christmas and New Year's greetings from Vice-President Colin Mackenzie ["The Old Wish"]; musings on luck in business ["This Thing Called Luck"]; a humourous account of a writer getting into 5 accidents rather than 1 while moving bricks ["Accident or Accidents"]; 5 black and white [B&W] reproductions of photographs of warehouse stocks, display selling service, a storefront, machine shop service, and sporting goods ["Greetings from Our Store to Yours"]; a reproduction of the war poem "In Flanders' Fields" by John McCrae; a list of company personnel [with special mention of staff members currently on military service]; and a holiday poem ["Merry Christmas"].

Two letters featuring idiosynchratic spelling and grammar from the Calgary Chief of Police Thomas English to boxer Walter W Weir in Vernon, B.C., dated June 25, 1905 and July 24, presumably of the same year but not indicated. The first letter discusses English's thoughts on Vernon and "the B C people," other boxers, and a potential tournament in Calgary where English hoped Weir would come and "put some quietus on some more of the hot air fraturnity." The second letter is informing Weir the tournament will be held on August 10-12.

A photograph of a group of people, a dozen horses, and several wagons standing outside in a field. The photographer, known as “The Ranchmen’s Photographer” according to the embossment under the photo, was S. A. Smyth from Calgary, Alberta. Sydney Alfred Smyth was a well-known photographer who was active in the late 1800s.

A holiday cabinet card that reads “Wishing You A Merry Christmas And A Happy New Year” embossed in gold with small embossed designs around the words. The photograph depicts a large herd of sheep and two herders on horseback in the background. The creators' names, “Boorne & May,” are listed on the back of the card. They were photographers in Calgary, N.W.T., and there is handwriting on the back stating the photograph was taken in July 1892.

The General Index to the Insurance Plan of the City of Calgary for 1961 to 1972. The index was created by the Underwriters’ Survey Bureau, Limited and the copyright was registered in Ottawa, Ontario. No copy number for the index is listed. At the beginning of the booklet is a map of the Calgary area divided into 10 sections. The index is divided into several sections with paper dividers. The sections are “Blocks,” “Specials,” “ Streets,” and “Volume 1” through to 10.

An insurance plan of the town of High River, Alberta from August 1960. The population at the time of the plan creation was 2250. The plan consists of a Master Title page which contains a Standard Key of Signs, two index pages, and 7 detail sheets. On the cover of the plan, there is a note indicating that the plan was made by and is the property of the Underwriters’ Survey Bureau Limited. The copyright for the plan is registered in Ottawa. This particular plan is listed as Copy No. 13 and was issued to Phoenix Assurance Company Limited of London in Calgary, Alberta. Each page of the detail sheets displays various streets and buildings in the town of High River and the colour of each building indicates the type of construction material used for that particular building. This plan consists of primarily retail areas.

A tourist guide book for Alberta and B.C. "with maps of highways, showing mileage and selected hotels, restaurants, camps, garages, and merchants along each separate map." Includes history of some locations, photographs, and advertising for relevant businesses.

A satirical twenty dollar bill for Ralph Bucks from Calgary, Alberin 2000. The writing on the bill states that it is for use in private hospitals and is a “legal tender for increased administration costs, advertising, unnecessary treatments, and profit.” On the front of the bill, there is an unflattering cartoon illustration of Ralph Klein, former premier of Alberta who was in office from December 14, 1992, to December 14, 2006. The bill is meant as a satirical commentary on rising private healthcare costs. On the back of the bill are several phone numbers for key political figures in Alberta whom people are encouraged to call to oppose hiked health care costs. The bill is presumably a response to the Klein government’s decision to cut healthcare spending by 21% between 1994 and 1996 and the increase in the privitization of healthcare systems.

Certified copy of marriage certificate between Harold Redgrave, bachelor, of Golden, British Columbia, and Emma Frances de Vere, widow, of Donald, British Columbia. Certificate affirms that their marriage was solemnized at Calgary, Alberta by Reverend J. G. Herdman, in the presence of Minnie Herdman and Lizzie Londoun, on 8 Feb. 1887, and was registered on 13 May 1889.

A group portrait of 18 men, four in suits and the rest in sports uniform, with a trophy that reads "Tuxedo F. C. 1926." All names are captioned on verso, as well as a note that reads "Tuxedo Park, Calgary."

The photo album may have belonged to Robert John Hamilton. Contains several B&W photos of gas and oil fields and equipment, and a handbook clipping regarding oil industry information. The majority of the photo album, however, contains recreational photos of a group of several people travelling, hiking, and camping around the Rocky Mountain areas in Alberta. A mix of scenic photos and portraits. Several notable locations in the Rocky Mountains are photographed such as Mt. Rundle, Lake Louise, Mt. Edith Cavell, and Athabasca Falls.

The album largely consists of B&W photographs of hydroelectric dams and power plants in the Canadian Rockies, particularly Banff, Kananaskis Country, Seebe, Ghost River, and the Horseshoe Dam. Of particular note are approximately 24 photographs showing the aftermath of the fire that destroyed the Horseshoe plant in 1940 and approximately 20 photographs showing the construction of the Ghost Hydroelectric Dam.

The album also contains some personal photographs, including landscapes, wildlife, Boy Scout and Cub Scout events, houses, family portraits, children, Indigenous people in Banff, and photographs commemorating trips taken in Western Canada and the United States.

The album largely consists of exterior and interior photographs of prominent buildings across Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba, with detailed captions explaining the services provided by G. F. Stephens & Co. Ltd., as well as buildings where G. F. Stephens paints and varnishes were manufactured, and copies of testimonial letters written by commercial businesses regarding the company's work.

A list of 505 names, many including job descriptions or marital status, of registered voters in a west Calgary district "comprising an area bounded on the North by 17th Ave. West, on the East by 26th Street, on the South by 23rd Avenue W., and on the West by 29th Street West." The names were "enumerated during a recent house-to-house visitation in the above mentioned polling division by a pair of urban enumerators."
