Photographs

Photographs and images within the Prairie Ephemera Collection are organized into five (5) series based on dates of creation: No date, pre-1900, 1900-1919, 1920-1967, and post-1968. Where possible, an estimated date of creation is given.

Religion

A collection of items created by the activity of the religious organizations and the religious lives of those living on the Prairie Provinces.

Agriculture Groups

Publications, reports, and song books from Agriculture Groups within the Canadian Prairie Provinces, such as: Alberta Wheat Pool, United Farmers of Alberta (U.F.A.), Saskatchewan Wheat Pool, United Grain Growers (U.G.G.), Saskatchewan Cooperative Wheat Producers, Canadian Wheat Board, and the Canadian Seed Growers' Association.

Military

Items relating to military events and activities, as well as those documenting individuals' participation in the military.

Albums & Scrapbooks

A wide variety of experiences are captured in the pages of these albums and scrapbooks. From family vacations to prisoner of war (POW) experiences, stories from a wide range of people are captured here in the materials arranged and saved by them. While names, places, and dates are not always available, there is much to discover in this collection.

Education & Academia

Report cards, certificates, exams, essays, and a wide variety of items to do with the educational and academic experiences of Prairie Province residents.

Government & Political Process

An assembly of material reflecting the breadth of government and political engagement across the Prairies, including election campaign materials, political party convention reports, and civic development activities. Two series within this broader category include ephemeral publications produced by government, and a collection of scrapbooks covering the history of the Social Credit party within Alberta.

Non-Commercial Organizations

Publications or materials belonging to non-commercial organizations, such as associations, foundations, clubs, societies and volunteer groups, that cannot be otherwise located in one of the other sub-fonds.

Commerce & Industry

Ephemeral materials produced by businesses. Includes publications relating to labour movements and unions. Held within the Prairie Ephemera Collection.
