This leaflet, originally inserted in a First World War military book, asks the question: “Which book will you buy for the blind man?” and features a color illustration of a blind man being handed a braille book. On verso, there is a printed appeal from C. Arthur Pearson, Honorary Treasurer of the newly established National Institute for the Blind, asking for donations to fund the purchase of equipment to bring down the cost of printing braille books. On the bottom of the page is a place to write your name, address, and amount pledged for the Institute. C. Arthur Pearson was a noted publisher, writer and newspaper man, but began to lose his sight due to glaucoma in 1908. He published his Pearson’s Easy Dictionary in braille in 1912, and became President of the National Institute for the Blind in 1914. He was a successful fundraiser for the Institute as these leaflets might attest to, increasing the income from £8,000 to £360,000 in only eight years. Pearson went on to establish the St. Dunstan’s Home for soldiers blinded in the First World War, where men were offered vocational training in an effort to help them regain their independence and return to the workforce.

A bound copy of two volumes of the Canadian Rusyn publication, printed in Ukrainian. When translated the English, the title of each publication is “Calendar.”The first volume was published in 1918 and the second volume was published in 1919. The covers and binding appear handmade from hide. The two volumes when translated to English contain articles about current events and cultural events relevant to the Ukrainian settlers in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Throughout the volumes, there are multiple illustrations and photographs. The volumes also include several advertisements for local companies.

The General Index to the Insurance Plan of the City of Edmonton for 1959 to 1966. The index was likely created by the Underwriters’ Survey Bureau, Limited. At the beginning of the booklet is a foldout map of the Edmonton area divided into 12 sections. The index contains three sections which are titled “ Streets,” "Specials," and "Blocks" and various addresses are listed in each.

On the second cover page, there is a note indicating the plan was made in Canada by the Underwriters’ Survey Bureau. This particular plan is listed as Copy No. 42 and was issued to St. Paul Fire & Marine Insurance Company. The first cover page mentioned appears to be an addition to the plan from a previous plan. Each page of the detail sheets displays various streets and buildings in the city of Edmonton and the colour of each building indicates the type of construction material used for that particular building. This plan consists primarily of residential areas on the North side of the North Saskatchewan River.

A small souvenir diagram of a Saskatchewan Wheat Pool elevator. The diagram is formed in the shape of a grain elevator and when the diagram is opened, the inside workings and mechanisms of a grain elevator are colourized and labelled. Also inside the diagram is a short description of how a wheat elevator functions and lists notable highlights of the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool. The diagram was created for the Saskatchewan Centennial in 2005.

A Sing-a-Long songbook for the Canadian Empress steamboat. There are 50 songs included in the booklet. The songbook was compiled and prepared by Harvey McKend. Some of the songs included are titled “Coconuts,” “For Me and My Gal,” “The Man Who Broke the Bank,” and many others. On the inside of the front cover page, there are two advertisements for the Empress Bar and the Empress Corner Store. On the inside of the back cover page, there is an advertisement for Canadian Empress Steamboat Vacations on the St. Lawrence River, and the main office is located in Kingston, Ontario.

The booklet is marked as Volume 3. When the leaflet is unfolded, there are various facts covering the page about tourist attractions in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Included on the leaflet are various photographs depicting the subject of each fact and a list of the credit for each photograph. On the back of the folded leaflet, contact information is listed for Tourism Winnipeg.

A collection of documents titled “Record and Analysis for Settlement Purposes of Business Transaction Between C.J. McFadden and D.J. McFadden.” There is one document for each year and ranges from 1949 to 1983. Several documents include supplementary reports or notes stapled to them. A collection of meeting minutes from the Manitoba Turkey Producers’ Marketing Board annual meetings. There is one minutes document for each year from 1970 to 1989. The majority of the meetings were held at the International Inn in Winnipeg, Manitoba, although several were also held at the Niakwa Motor Hotel and the Ramada Inn in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Each document lists the date and location of the meeting and provides details about the topics discussed. Several of the minutes documents include appendices. At each meeting elections for district representatives took place and were recorded in the minutes. Some of the other discussion topics for the meetings included national marketing, auditor reports, reports from the chairman, interactions with the Canada Department of Agriculture, fire insurance, budgets, by-laws, and producer board reports.

A guide and worksheet booklet titled “Rental and Custom Charges for Farm Machinery” published by the Manitoba Department of Agriculture in 1988. The booklet is marked as AGDEX 740. The first page of the guide outlines eight steps describing how to use the worksheet. The booklet includes information about tractor rental rates, combine rental and custom rates, and combine separating areas. There are three information tables on pages 6 to 11 which list various farm machinery. The tables contain numerous blank cells for calculations. The back cover page of the booklet lists numerous metric conversion factors.

The guide is marked as No. 550 Revised. The first page of the guide outlines eight steps describing how to use the worksheet. The back of the guide lists numerous metric conversion factors.

The first page of the guide outlines eight steps describing how to use the worksheet, and the remainder of the guide consists of a large table listing farm machinery. An advertising brochure for livestock medicines. Product list includes uterine boluses, sulfanilamide, sulfathiazole, calf scour remedy, etc.

Donald J. McFadden's filled-in annual line-of-credit applications to the Royal Bank of Canada from 1972-1982. The booklet from 1979 is a photocopy. The front covers contain personal and family information such as applicant's name, address, wife's name, ages of sons (1972-1979) or children (1980-1982) living at home, "Directions from Branch to Farm," etc. Inside the booklets are colour-coded and divided into four sections; "Statement of Affairs," "Operating Budget," "Cash Flow Projection," and "Debt Servicing Worksheet." All sections have been filled out by hand in pencil, with occasional supplmenting documents attached. Starting in 1977, the back of the booklets include a conversion chart, showing metric to imperial and back of various measurements, and bushel to tonne and back of various crops. A detached page contains additional financial information for the year of 1973.

Laid-in between pages 10-11 is a loose page detailing "plans to invest a half billion dollars in new, highly efficient hopper cars."

An advertising brochure for the Prince Rupert Grain export terminal "known as PRG." Includes information on terminal history, capabilities, procedures, and specifications. A label on the back grants some variety of security clearance for a visitor by the Prince Rupert Port Authority, valid until September 24, 2019.

Two blank foldable order forms for Brathwaites Limited Wholesaler Department, a pharmacy in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Each order form has blank spaces where the sender can fill in their name, address, and preferred shipping method. Each order form also includes a blank table where the sender can list the medication they wish to purchase, the quantity, and the size. The forms fold into envelope shapes with prepaid postage of six (6) cents, a predetermined address for Brathwaites Limited, and several blank lines in the top left corner for a return address.

The minutes are dated January 12, 1987 and January 15, 1987. Each document lists the date, and the names of people present for the meeting, and provides details about the topics discussed. Both minutes documents are all labelled as Directors Meetings. Some of the discussion topics for the meetings include premiums paid to the board, various statements of account, various motions, pool payments, and various correspondences with the board.
