Entries appear to be carbon copied onto the page and are slightly off the lines. The year, last entry, and running total (dated January 25, 1966) are added in blue pen, and a note reading "Marked up" in red pen.

Laid-in before the first page is a letter from Mel Jones on behalf of Statistics Canada to Mr Donald J. McFadden regarding the "Census of Agriculture test questionnaire." Jones responds to specific comments made by McFadden on the questionnaire and thanks him for his input. The blank account book was included with the correspondence "as an example" of recent progress in updating record-keeping methods for farmers.
