Documents relating mostly to the later life of Clayborne Stewart, who lived in Red Deer, Alberta. Includes a collection of letters and cards documenting his 1946-7 courtship and subsequent marriage with his second wife, Louise (legal name Zenobia) nee Taylor. The two exchanged letters while Louise was living in Calgary and Clayborne in Red Deer; many of Clayborne's letters to Louise and other correspondence are collected here. Stewart worked as an army cook in Red Deer, and attended an army cook training course at Camp Borden in Ontario in 1953; the file also includes letters written from Clayborne to Louise during this time.

All of the letters in this collection are addressed to Irma Breadner, employee of Don Stanton's General Store of Westlock, Alberta, from her friends and family. The letters span the years 1941 through 1948, but the bulk were sent in the years 1944 and 1945. Together the letters offer an intimate view of Wartime as it was experienced by Central Albertans. Breadner's correspondents include servicemen and women working overseas, her sister, Jean, building airplanes in Ontario, and many Albertan women getting their educations or helping their families with the harvest against the backdrop of the final years of the Second World War. The collection also includes cards, postcards, pay stubs and a church program.

Matriarch Pearl McNeil (nee Montgomery) was the niece of Bob Montgomery of Death Valley Skidoo Gold Mine fame. She had three sons; Bob, Tom, and Don. Locations of the photographs range from Ontario to northern Alberta and Saskatchewan, to the Yukon and the Northwest Territories. Collection contains two albums, three sets of loose photographs, and a selection of miscellaneous items including Christmas cards and a small bank/address book.
