The manuscript is enclosed in a paper cover, and on the inside cover is written: "To Major General S.B. Steele C.B. M.V.O. with my compliments from P. Anderson Major 101 Regiment Edmonton Fusiliers, Alberta, Canada". The memoir tells of Anderson's escape from the German military prison, and his eventual arrival in England after travelling incognito through Germany and across the Danish border.
