        History

        Arthur Campbell Walsh, psychiatrist, was born in Vancouver, BC, he was the son of the late William C. and Anne Patterson Walsh. Dr. Walsh served in the Royal Canadian Medical Corps in WWII. He received his undergraduate degree from the Univ. of British Columbia and his M.D. degree from the Univ. of Alberta at Edmonton. Dr. Walsh had a family practice in Vancouver for 20 years. He completed his Residency in Psychiatry at the Univ. of Pittsburgh in 1967. His work focused on finding a cure for Alzheimer's and other dementia related diseases.

        A.C. Walsh was unofficial class photographer for the class of '43 in Medicine. The photographs in this collection were sent to the Archives from his office in Pittsburgh, where he has been a practicing psychiatrist.
