In existence since the University's opening classes, the Department of Mathematics offers undergraduate and graduate programs with interdisciplinary components in statistics, physics and computing science, as well as an undergraduate program in the Faculty of Arts. The Department has done active research in areas such as mathematical physics, topology, differential equations and mathematical biology. It is associated with the Applied Mathematics Institute at the University.
