Scope and content
Photograph depicts a view of the Soper River Valley looking northeastward to the Cascade River from a height of approximately 1500 feet; the entire granite region is heavily glaciated. Soper and his two Inuit assistants, Moosa and Mutuse, were surveying the Soper River north of Lake Harbour. The Soper family spent a year in Lake Harbour where Dewey Soper had a federal government contract to explore the north coast of Hudson Strait.
