A coverless album of photographs primarily of rural and farming activities. It appears to follow Mr. Scobie, Mr. McArton, Mr. Siemens, Mr. Webb, and Mr. Macalister on a trip to various settler communites in B.C. and Alberta. Numerous shots of livestock, mostly pigs, cows, and horses. Other subjects include trains, tractors, a rodeo in Doe River, B.C., various wood frame buildings, and group portraits.

Leachoil Mountains.” The stamp on the back of the photograph indicates it was printed by Associated Screen News Limited, a private photograph production company in Montreal, Quebec that was active from the 1920s to the 1950s.

The book, published by the Department of Colonization and Development and the Canadian Pacific Railway, claims that because the railway owns lands in Alberta that are both irrigated and non-irrigated, they represent an unbiased voice on the subject. Throughout the book, there are B&W printed photographs of farmers, different irrigation systems, livestock, and barns.

The brochure advertises “The Triangle Route” which is the train route from Jasper National Park, Alberta to Vancouver, B.C. by train, then Vancouver, B.C. to Prince Rupert, B.C. by boat, then Prince Rupert, B.C. back to Jasper National Park, Alberta by train. The brochure includes information about the railway, and various notable places to stop in the Canadian Rockies and along the route such as Mount Robson Park, Vancouver, Victoria, and Kamloops.

A large foldable map of the Canadian Pacific Railway Lines in Canada as well as offices in the United States with Canadian Pacific Offices. The lines and the offices are marked in red. On the other side of the map are several colourful painting copies of locations in Canada, as well as information about notable stops along the railway line such as Canada’s national parks, resorts in the Canadian Rockies, and several cities like Victoria, Vancouver, Seattle, and Alaska. The map was lithographed in Canada by Ralph Clark Stone Ltd. Toronto. One painting was done by Belmore Browne, two were painted by L. Richmond, and two were painted by A.C. Leighton.

A policy statement for the construction of the Canada Pacific Railway written by J.W. Crouter. The policy is an argument that the railway should be constructed as a government work and constructed by Canadian citizens, as opposed to constructed by a private company. J.W. Crouter outlines a plan for the Canadian government to sell properties and land to make up the funds for the construction of the railway. J.W. Crouter also states that should the government reject this proposal, he will form a party which will take power from those in opposition.

A pamphlet from the Canada Pacific Railway titled “The Staff of Life: A Story of Winter Wheat Production in Southern Alberta, Canada.” The pamphlet was printed by the Western Ptg. & Litho Co. in Calgary, Alberta. The pamphlet discusses wheat during winter, profits in winter wheat culture, irrigation, development policies, rainfall statistics, land values, and crop statistics among other topics. The map in the centre of the pamphlet illustrates Canadian Pacific Railway lines in the Western, Central, and Eastern sections of Southern Alberta.

The brochure also provides information about the various enterprises of the Canadian Pacific travel system such as steamships, railways, hotels, telegraphs, express, cruises, and farmlands.
