History
The Planning and Development office is a professional and technical department of the University with responsibility for representing and protecting the interests of the University in matters relating to planning and construction of physical facilities and support infrastructure. Planning and Development is an autonomous department (separate from Physical Plant) under a Director reporting to the Associate Vice-President (Facilities). Planning and Development provides professional leadership to direct, coordinate and facilitate activities to ensure compliance with the University's Long Range Development Plans; to plan, tender and construct new buildings/additions, major renovations/restorations, and minor renovations/furnishings; and to manage and maintain a space inventory and record drawings of the University's physical facilities (MAPPS 1990).
