This subseries consists of various catalogues and similar materials collected by Dr. Margaret Mackey and donated to the University of Alberta Libraries. It contains catalogues for Barbie Dolls, education software, Christmas gifts, and a photocopy of a page containing a list of reviews for TV programs from the Readers' Guide to Periodical Literature.

This subseries consists of materials relating to the University of Alberta and conferences there that Dr. Margaret Mackey took part in. All of which were collected by Dr. Margaret Mackey and donated to the University of Alberta Libraries. It consists of two pamphlets from the University of Alberta, one dealing with the Graduate Student Association awards night, and one detailing research at the University of Alberta. There are also materials relating to the 1995 conference "Intersecting Disciplines: Issues in Comparative Studies", including: an advertisement flyer, a program, and a paper proposal submitted by Dr. Margaret Mackey on "Cultural Diversity and Learning: Plural Narratives and Consequences for Children". It also contains a banner for "The Commercial Face of Children's Literature: The Commodification of a Classic".

This subseries consists of a sample of Dr. Margaret Mackey's personal correspondences collected and donated to the University of Alberta Libraries. It contains personal correspondences relating to Beatrix Potter and Peter Rabbit, communications with publishers and colleagues, and about presentations. The correspondences are on cards, scrap paper, and email printouts from listservs. Some correspondences were sent with other materials such as articles, and media software (floppy discs).

Collection

The collection consists of materials collected by Dr. Margaret Mackey (1948-) and donated to the University of Alberta Libraries. It contains materials that have been collected by Dr. Margaret Mackey over the course of her lifetime and include books, videos, audio recordings, collectible items, electronic games, reports, ephemera, and some of her personal files. The materials contained in this collection relate to various children's book series that Dr. Margaret Mackey was interested in, including: Frances Hodgson Burnett's The Secret Garden, L.M. Montgomery's Anne of Green Gables, Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials, Lewis Carrol's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, P.L. Traver's Mary Poppins, Louisa May Alcott's Little Women, L. Frank Baum's The Wizard of Oz, and Beatrix Potter's The Tale of Peter Rabbit. Along with those series, the collection also contains educational materials relating to mainly the teaching of English. As well as numerous personal files collected by Dr. Margaret Mackey, in the form of correspondences, news articles (print and online), teaching materials, personal writings, and materials related to publisher Pearson P.L.C. This collection contains the following series: Frances Hodgson Burnett and The Secret Garden (1949-2006), L.M. Montgomery and Anne of Green Gables (1985-2013), Philip Pullman and His Dark Materials (1995-2013), Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (1960-2012), P.L. Travers and Mary Poppins (1996-2014), Louisa May Alcott and Little Women (1933-2011), Education Materials (1950-2013), L. It contains newspaper clippings relating to Beatrix Potter and Peter Rabbit, and other children's characters such as Thomas the Tank Engine and Winnie the Pooh. It also contains printouts and newspaper clippings that relate to business news and publishers Pearson P.L.C.. There are also some of Dr. Margaret Mackey's personal correspondences, more Peter Rabbit materials such as reviews, webpage printouts, erotic poems, and advertisements, and a photocopy of an article on collective memory.

It contains 3 comic pages from the Edmonton Journal which contain a series of Peanuts comics that contain Peter Rabbit as a character, an overhead presentation about Peter Rabbit from its publisher F. Warne & Co., a newspaper article on publisher Pearson P.L.C., works relating to Dr. Margaret including an advertisement for a presentation, a catalogue on Beatrix Potter and Peter Rabbit works catalogued by her and an article on Peter Rabbit and its publication. It also contains an order form for The Bradford Exchange, and four copies of an article on choosing the best CD-Rom encyclopedia.

All of which were collected by Dr. Margaret Mackey and donated to the University of Alberta Libraries. The news articles are pulled from The Wall Street Journal, The Globe and Mail, The Edmonton Journal, The New Yorker, The Independent, The Observer, New York Times, website The Bookseller, as well as official press releases. These articles contain information on general business news, earnings reports, press releases, business deals, mergers, profits, and management.
