PE000723 - Photograph Album of Long Branch RAF base, and Wascana Lake in Saskatchewan

Prints are of basic training at Long Branch, Ontario, and of post-war recreation around Saskatchewan and Wascana Lake. Also included is one 4" x 6" aerial photo of the Long Branch RAF base and one 3" x 4" photo from 1911 of a Boy Scout Camp at Fort Qu’appelle.
Further notes provided by dealer: "In 1918, the compiler of this album trained with the RAF at Jesse Ketchum School in Toronto and then moved on to further training at Long Branch, which is now the district known as Etobicoke.  This same training was undertaken by writer William Faulkner months earlier. Following the war and up to 1920, much of this album is of trips or days out on and around the waterways of Saskatchewan."

PE000974 - R.C.A.F. Christmas Card

Christmas Card is white with blue writing. Front cover reads: "Royal Canadian Air Force No. 15 S.F.T.S. Claresholm, Alberta. Christmas Greetings, 1941." There is the crest of the Royal Canadian Air Force along with this writing. The interior contains a b&w photograph of a control tower, and a poem titled: "God in the Control Tower." Below this reads: "Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Gray, Claresholm, Alberta." 

PE004831 - Handmade Booklet: In Memoriam of RCAF Servicemen

Booklet titled: "In Memoriam." Booklet lists 30 names of RCAF, RCNVR, Army, and U.S.A.A.F. (United States Army Air Forces) members who were killed on active service. Consists of 5 pages of thin construction paper. Front cover is hand-drawn, with a pink border and a British flag drawn in light pencil in the upper left corner. Names inside are written by hand in pink crayon.

Photo album including photographs of RCAF Station Carberry, Service Flying Training School No. 33.

The album leaves devoted to the camp are preceded by about 26 photos illustrating the trajectory to the camp and succeeded by approximately 114 photos of Vancouver. The locations depicted in the photos include: New York City; Moncton, New Brunswick; Carberry, Manitoba; Brandon, Manitoba; various locations within Winnipeg; the Rockies (Jasper, Banff, AB); Regina, Saskatchewan; Vancouver, BC; Calgary, AB; Drumheller, AB; Montreal, Quebec. Photographs of the camp include aerial views of the camp, the Carberry coat of arms, images of activities on base, images of cafeterias and technical stores in the camp, personnel photographs, harvest in Carberry, and images of the town.
