Handwritten letter from the secretary (Caroline Margaret Land) of the Toronto I.O.D.E. wishing Marie the best on her journey to South Africa, mentioning the Order's work in S.A. caring for soldiers' graves, and informing Marie that her membership in the I.O.D.E. has been processed. The letter is dated September 29th, 1902.

Attached with the letter is a listing of the Executive members of the Imperial Order of the Empire and the Children of the Empire, as well as an issue of their newsletter "Echoes" (June 1st, 1902).
