A B&W photograph of a massive miniature model of The Holy Land with two American flags hanging beside it. A sign in the background of the photograph indicates the model in a masonic hall in Detroit, Michigan. The caption on the photograph states that the model is made up of about 60,00,000 pieces and 1100 electrically moving figures. The model was created in Edmonton, Alberta by the Gauci Brothers Builders. They started building the model in 1914 and it took them around 10 years to complete. In the top right corner of the photograph is a composite photograph of the faces of the two brothers and their names captioned underneath. Joseph W. Gauci was the originator and designer, and Salvator Gauci was the mechanical supervisor. The model was so popular that it toured around Canada and the United States of America for nearly 40 years.

The other Grand Trunk Pacific Hotels are listed as Chateau Laurier in Ottawa, Ontario, The Fort Garry in Winnipeg, Manitoba, The Qu’Appelle in Regina, Saskatchewan, and The Prince Rupert in Prince Rupert, British Columbia.

A small vignette photograph booklet titled “Edmonton Alberta and Alberta Farm Scenes, 1906.” Inside the booklet is one long foldout page with a different vignette photograph on each fold. Some of the photographs included are of the Alberta Hotel, McKay Ave. School, the residence of John McDougall, the Canadian Bank of Commerce, and the Windsor Hotel in Edmonton, Alberta. The booklet also includes some text that outlines Edmonton’s growth over the previous four years and “Alberta’s Progress in Dairying.” All of the photographs were taken by C. Tait in Edmonton, Alberta, and the booklet was published by W.A. Dawson in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Two handwritten letters from Charles French to his wife and children. The first letter dated May 29th, 1907, was sent from Calgary, Alberta, and was written on Grand Central Hotel stationery. Charles French writes about the current state of Calgary and opportunities for making money there. He describes Calgary in a favourable light. The second letter dated May 30th, 1907, was sent from Edmonton, Alberta, and was written on The Hotel Cecil stationery. In this letter, he writes that he does not like the area at all and does not think he will stay there. The third letter, which is typed on C.A. French & Sons Grain, Flour, Coal, and Mill Feeds stationery, is written to Charles French from one of his sons, H.G. French. The letter informs Charles that he must purchase more corn. The last item is a business card for Charles A. French in Bellmont, Illinois.

Also includes a "Chairman's Address," schedule, and a note that Calgary, Alberta was decided upon as the location of the next year's meeting.

The coal mine in Edmonton, Alberta started producing coal in January 1906. The leaflet was printed around [1910?] by Rous & Mann. Limited Printers in Toronto, Ontario. The leaflet provides information about the company such as the production process of coal, the average coal seams on the property, the need for increased output of coal, yearly outputs and cost of production, why the company is a safe investment, mine management, and a recent auditor’s report of the mining account for the financial period ending on February 28, 1910. Shares for the company are advertised as costing $100 each.

A hotel register of guest names from August 1922 to November 1924. The register pages are divided into five columns to mark down the date, the name of the guest, their town of residence, their room number at the hotel, and their time of arrival, although it is primarily only the name, residence, and room columns that are used in this ledger. The name of the hotel is not mentioned in the register, although the majority of the guests resided in towns in Alberta, primarily Edmonton, so presumably the hotel was also in Alberta. On the inside of the back cover, there are several handwritten notes regarding price charges to specific guests.

Watson [no actual signature present]; 3 copies of an indenture [House Lease #230] between His Majesty the King in Right of Canada (acting through Wartime Housing Limited) and Howard Watson, all signed uniquely; 1 pamphlet produced by Wartime Housing Limited; and 5 typed journal or diary entries on various topics, including general musings, New Years' resolutions, a description of an encounter with a 'competitor' in the newspaper business that caused him to be concerned he would be perceived as having acted rudely, and a list of 11 novels entitled "Books I have read".

Two letters are sent by Thomas Walker of the Office of the Assessor and Tax Collector:
17 Dec. 1930 - refers Ponton's letter to the City Building Inspector for response.
14 Oct. 1931 - explains that the Canada Life Assurance Company overpaid $1 in remittance of arrears, which was refunded to them.

Three letters are sent by J. Martland, the City Architect and Building Inspector:
5 Jan. 1931 - suggests that the re-subdivision of Lot 11, Block 27 should not be a problem. Recommends obtaining separate land titles to the North and South halves of the lot as Ponton wishes to build a dwelling on the South half.
9 Oct. 1931 - mentions building a frame house on the South lot is permitted if Ponton has registered separate land titles, but is unsure if Ponton has done so.
14 Oct. 1931 - in reference to Ponton's response that he has registered two separate titles, affirms that there is no current by-law preventing Ponton from building a frame house on the South half of Lot 11, Block 27.

All three bear an identical illustration of the "Old-Timers' Cabin at Exhibition Grounds, Edmonton" on the front and contain a "Toast List," a menu, and lyrics to a song on the back. The 1931 and 1932 programs have "Red River Valley," and the 1935 program has "Old Friends." Menu items are themed to Alberta locations, such as "Tofield Noodles" and "Wetaskiwin Potatoes."

Two letters that were typed on Royal Alexandra Hospital stationary from F. Munroe in Edmonton, Alberta to Miss Mary Jones in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan. The first letter is dated February 2nd, 1933 and indicates that they have received Miss Jones' application for admission to the School of Nursing, but it cannot be considered until they receive an official transcript of her high school grades.
The second letter is dated February 22, 1933, and indicates that Miss Jones' statement of marks was received, but they still need a statement from the Department of Education in Regina that she has completed Grade 11.

The booklet is the written form of an address given by Imrie at a joint luncheon of the Empire Club of Canada and the Annual Convention of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce. The luncheon was held in Toronto, Ontario on February 6, 1936. The address covers subjects such as freight earnings from western Canada, major mistakes on the prairies, encouragement of sound development of mixed farming, and population and occupation changes since national policy was adopted in 1878.

Heard’s experience at the Congress and their efforts to ensure the Social Credit League was accepted at the Congress and not ostracized, as well as the events of the Congress. The letter also reiterates the goals and objectives of the Alberta Social Credit League and thanks the recipients for their donation that made the trip to Congress possible.

The album depicts a portrait of life at the Edmonton US Army Air Force base in Edmonton (Namao) during the Second World War. The Album is comprised of more than 275 personal and 50 commercial photographs. In the Album, Harold Palmer of Paul Minnesota, Curates a mixture of work, domestic life, and the pleasures of travel, during his time as areg. Controllerfor northwest Airlines at the Edmonton air base.
The images also include a nostalgic Journey through the streets and storefronts of 1940s Edmonton the day-to-day life at the Namao Airfield, Barracks and office, and travel further afield to Banff Springs, Lake Louise and Anchorage, Alaska. The album is predominantly filled with Palmer's personal photographs but includes a good number of commercial photographs of tourist locales and Alberta wildlife. Beyond a strong military sensibility and tourism, A selection of early ski jumping on wooden jumps is a notable curiosity. During the Second World War, the United States established several military bases in Canada as part of the war effort. In 1942 the Edmonton Municipal Airport became home to the United States Army Air Forces (USAAF) military Airfield. The Airfield was used as a training base for bomber Pilots and several USAAF bomber groups trained there, including the 381st bombardment group, which flew B17 Flying Fortress bombers.

A very affectionate birthday letter written by a father, possibly Ernest William MacEwan, in Edmonton, Alberta to his one-year-old son, Ian in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. The letter was written on August 20, 1941. The father wishes his son a happy birthday and explains although he can’t be there in person, he is there in spirit with his son. The letter is written on Royal Canadian Air Force stationery. The included envelope is addressed to Master Ian MacEwan, who is most likely Robert Ian MacEwan. Contents include a history of normal schools in Alberta, a dedication (opposite a colourized mounted photograph of a mountain scene with a bridge over a river), a message from the principal, poems and writing samples from students, photographs of students, staff, and scenes from campus, inspirational messages, and write-ups on sports teams and other activities and clubs. The last 25 pages are advertisements for local businesses, complete with its own directory. "Berthold Figur" written on the front loose endpaper.

Three catalogue materials from the Northern Alberta Pioneers and Old Timers Association. The first item is a program for the annual round-up banquet and dance of the organization. The banquet was held at the MacDonald Hotel on December 3rd, 1942. The program lists the menu for the evening as well as the toast list and association officers. The second item is a catalogue of the items in the relics building at Old Fort Edmonton in Edmonton, Alberta. The price of the catalogue is listed as 25 cents. The third item is another catalogue of the items in the relics building at Old Fort Edmonton, but the inside pages were typed on a typewriter.

Describes the development, construction, and eventual opening of the highway connecting Fairbanks, Alaska, to Dawson Creek, British Columbia.

Includes 1 map of "The Province of Alberta in relation to the Alaska Highway and the natural resources of Northwestern Canada", and approximately 40 black and white [B&W] and sepia-toned photographs depicting the construction of the highway, the individuals working on the construction project, landscapes and scenery around the highway, and the official opening of the highway.

Also includes "Tales about the Road" [short, mostly humourous vignettes about the development of the Alaska Highway] and "Edmonton - Crossroads of the World" [short prose piece about Edmonton, written in the point of view of "the spirit of Edmonton" and attributed to R. T. R.].

Album contains pages for autographs (filled and partially filled) and B&W photographs and illustrations. Subjects include: R.C.A.F. Commanding and Administrative Officers; parade and inspection; R.C.A.F. Headquarters Staff; mounted photograph [likely Lindberg's class]; No. 3 "M" Depot and No. 4 Reception Wing; mail delivery; health care at the station; Canadian Dental Corps; group photographs of depot staff members; soccer team; and humourous cartoons depicting R.C.A.F. life. A holiday greeting card signed "Yours, Bob" is mounted at the end of the album, in a homemade frame made of a paper map of the Northwest Territories and Alberta.

The original address is located in Edmonton, Alberta but it is crossed out and it is readdressed to a location in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. The envelope was stamped in Edmonton on July 17th, 1944. The back of the envelope is also covered in various stamps.

A short biography of the northern apostle, Bishop V. Grandin, Oblate of Mary Immaculate. Bishop Grandin was the first bishop of St. Albert, Alberta who died on June 3, 1902. The booklet was printed by “La Survivance” Printing Ltd. in Edmonton, Alberta in 1945. The booklet outlines the bishop’s life from his birth, to his extensive career, to his death. The booklet also includes several B&W printed photographs of significant locations and buildings in the bishop’s life. Inside the booklet is a small one-page program for Mary’s Day, 1955.

On the cover of the directory, people are instructed to call 100 for all fire-related calls. The directory also contains various illustrated advertisements for companies and their phone numbers. The directory is divided into different sections such as the municipal telephone system; rural subscribers; apartment houses, blocks and halls; the classified business directory; and Alberta government telephones. There are also included instructions for how to use a telephone.

The front cover of the program is autographed by Paul Robeson. The back cover of the program reads "Next Concert in this Series: Friday evening, March 1st, Jennie Tourel, Metropolitan Opera Mezzo Soprano".

A travel brochure advertising the Northern Transportation Comapany’s Radium Line, a train and waterways route, which was used to ship goods between the Northwest Territories, British Columbia, and Alberta. On the front of the brochure is a compass which reads “Dependability, Direct- Service, and Speed.” The headquarters for the organization is listed as the Magee building in Edmonton, Alberta. The brochure lists the schedule of sailings for 1947, and general information about storage, packing, weight limits, package markings, rates, and insurance. The sailing departure locations are listed as Fort Smith, Stoney Rapids, Yellowknife, Fort Rae, various points on the Mackenzie River, and Port Radium. A map of the route is included on the back of the brochure. The waterway routes are marked by the orange lines.
