Program titled: "The Law Students Society of Northern Alberta Complimentary Dinner given at Cronn’s Café, Edmonton, in honor of J.M. MacDonald, B.A.B.C.L., W. Poapst, B.A., R.W. Manley, P.W. Abbott, J.D. Munroe, B.A., W.J.A. Mustard and Edward Brice, B.A. On the occasion of their admission to the Bar. Friday, October 15, 1909." Below this, there is a saying in Latin: "Lex semper dabit Remedium" (The Law always gives a remedy). There are two red seals next to this phrase, and the invitation is bound with a purple ribbon. The writing throughout the card is also in dark purple, and contains a menu and a list of toasts. The back cover is blank aside from the publisher’s mark, which is indicated as Keystone Press.

Menu card for the Canadian Pacific Railway.  Full-colour cover illustration of a rail yard bordered with scrollwork, captioned “Winnipeg, The Grain Centre of the Empire.”  Interior shows damage near the crease from removal of two small pieces of tape.  The Dining Car Service includes Breakfast and A-La-Carte options.  Complaints are to be made to the car steward or the manager of Sleeping, Dining, Parlor Cars, Restaurants and News Service who is W. A. Cooper in Montreal.  Printed nearby is “L. S. & M. – 16-5-26” which is possibly the printing company or the artist attribution.  The back cover details the history of Winnipeg.

Menu card with tipped in sheet for Andrianne’s Restaurant, formerly the Hub Café, in Banff, AB.  The front cover shows grease marks in a vertical line and then speckled across the creased upper right corner.  The front and back covers of the cream-coloured card feature a green and brown illustration of a mountain, identified in a text box as Mt. Eisenhower, formerly known as Castle Mountain.  The a la carte menu includes cocktails, steaks and chops, sandwiches, fish and oysters in season, sundaes and fountain drinks, salads and cold plates, eggs and omelettes, toast and griddle cakes, and fruits – desserts - pies.  The tipped in sheet is typewritten and is dated Feb. 13/55, with the “3” drawn in pen over a “2.”  Various daily specials are listed with numerous dishes repeated from the menu card.

Menu card for Town & Country Coffee Shop in the Greyhound Building in Calgary, AB.  The menu was printed by Hickey & Jones in Calgary on ivory card stock now showing numerous grease and coffee stains.  The front cover has an illustration of a friendly cowboy, and has  a visible indent on the top edge from a paperclip.  Inside are numerous Coffee Shop Specials, Salads, Sandwiches, Desserts, Beverages and Juices, and selections “From Our Soda Fountain.”  Sundaes include Cubanana (35 cents), 2 Good 2 be 4 Gotten (35 cents), Stop and Go (35 cents), and the “Awful Awful” Sundae / Awful Big, Awful Good (40 cents).

Menu card for Shanghai Chop Suey restaurant located at 238-240 King Street in Winnipeg, MB.  The covers are printed to look like red leather.  The front mentions the restaurant has air conditioning and does banquets, and has illustrations of the restaurant and a crane with silver accents.  There are one hundred sixteen (116) numbered menu items including chop suey, egg foyoung, chow fan, chow mein, warmein, and guykew.

Menu card for Pelican Fish & Chips in Calgary, AB.  This menu card has rounded corners and has a full-colour picture of a bowl of ice cream on the front.  Underneath it reads “Crystal Ice Cream.”  The back cover shows an illustration of three kids at a soda fountain counter with text encouraging parents to send their kiddies for ice cream.  Small printing says the menu was lithographed in the U.S.A. by The Weiller Co. in Philadelphia.  Inside is the name of the restaurant, address 35 Fourth St. N.E., and the names of management, Jack Anderson and Jack King.  They serve a long list of sandwiches and dishes served with french fries.

Menu for The Safari Tea Stop located at 507 – 8th avenue southwest Calgary, AB.  The cover is a copper foiled textured paper printed with dark brown ink.  The front cover is an illustration of a bare-chested man wearing a turban holding with one hand a diamond shape containing the word “Safari” while the other hand holds a knife.  Along the bottom are the words “Afternoon Tea Menu.”  The back cover is covered with a description of “The Bengal Safari” romantically detailing a hunting party adventure in India to which “Your Guides” have been C. W. Ainsworth and B. J. Harrison.  The cover and menu paper are punched with two holes but whatever cord or ribbon bound them is lost.  The menu paper is textured and sand-coloured.  It opens in a bi-fold door design and each menu item is framed in its own hanging wood sign illustration.  Along the top is a border of overlapping illustrations of exotic adventure.

Menu card for The Skyline restaurant located at Macleod Trail, No. 2 Highway in Calgary, AB.  “Canada’s Finest Curb Service Restaurant and Golf Range.”  The cover is printed to look like cream leather and features an illustration of the restaurant on the front.  The back cover has a list of Fountain Specialties made with Palm Quality Products.  The front cover is cut away along the top right edge to show the name of the restaurant underneath. Inside, bound to the spine with two staples, is a small square booklet of Dinner entrees and facts both about the restaurant and Calgary.  Inside the back cover are printed two photographs of life-sized dinosaur sculptures captioned with information about the Calgary Zoo.   Printed by Albertan Job Press Ltd.

Titled: "Song of Welcome to Sir Wilfrid Laurier." The top of the poster contains a b&w photograph of Sir Wilfrid Laurier, bordered by two ink drawings of lilies. The song follows the title, and there is a note to sing it to the tune of "Die Wacht am Rhein." Song was written by M. Salzwedel. A note at the bottom states: "Sung at Morden, Man., July 15th, 1910."

Brown paper poster measuring 22 x 31 cm advertising an Easter Dance on Monday, April 2nd at the Community Hall in Warner.  Music by The Home Town Band “Playing UP TO DATE DANCE MUSIC / They’ll give you the Spring Feeling.”  Lunch to be served by U.F.W.A. in Hall, admission of fifty (50) cents, but ladies are free.  Dealer information indicates this poster is from 1956.  Warner is located in Alberta.

Invitation to attend the 35th Annual Edmonton Historical Board Recognition and Plaque Awards ceremony.  Award recipients include Vern Wishart; Alan Vanterpool; Peel’s Prairie Provinces Website – University of Alberta Library; Jewish Archives and Historical Society of Edmonton and Northern Alberta; Capital Modern Exhibit – Art Gallery of Alberta; Wallbridge Residence; Marshall Residence; Dean/Kuperus Residence; Chandler Barn; Highlands Community; Strathcona Community; Westmount Community.  Included with the invitation is an invitation to attend the opening of an exhibit entitled “The Other Side of the Mountain: Glimpses of Chinese Pioneer Life on the Prairies from the Wallace B. Chung and Madeline H. Chung Collection” at the Bruce Peel library.  Both items are in good condition.

It states that the sender “enters the portal Moose Jaw Klan, Realm of Sask.”  The slip is signed by Scott Emery on behalf of the Ku Klux Klan of Kanada. This form is printed but filled in using handwriting.

Chapbook titled “Dans les Montagnes Rocheuses Canadiennes” or In the Canadian Rocky Mountains.  Dedicated to Lord Shaughnessy, President of the C.P.R., and written by Gaëtane de Montreuil, pen-name of Georgiana Gill (Belanger).  This chapbook was letter-press printed in Quebec by Ernest Tremblay, Imprimeur, in 1916.  It is bound through two punched holes by a pink ribbon tied in a bow.  The cover is a matching pink paper and wraps around a single unopened signature.  Recorded in the Department of Agriculture in Ottawa in April, 1916.

The cast list does not include the original performers or the touring cast and there is no date. Synopsis says "Banff Center" in the top left corner, and a note on the front of the folder reads "by Olive Shaysby, Calgary."

The inside pages include handwritten notes and statistics compiled by Pocock about kit prices; Troop Depot Divisions and expenses; discharge statistics; pay rates; rations; ranks; death statistics and other short notes related to events from 1883-1885 involving the NWMP. Included in the booklet is a clipping detailing trail distances in Western Canada.

The mainstage performers included Vance Joy, Mokoomba, Ben Howard, Ben Harper and Charlie Musselwhite, Imelda May, Los Lobos, James Vincent, McMorrow, Lucius, Lunasa, Parker Millsap, Elephant Revival, Basia Bulat, Hudson Taylor, Michael Franti and Spearhead, Septeto Santiaguero, Della Mae, Phosphorescent, and Blue Rodeo. A Soccer Coaching Manual for Schools and Colleges by E.R. Slade from the Western Technical-Commercial School in Toronto, Ontario. The manual was published by the Dominion Football Association. The manual covers the rules of the games, and advice and directions for soccer techniques and plays such as dribbling, trapping, charging, heading, kicking, team strategy, and playing field among others. The manual includes various illustrations depicting these techniques and movements. On the inside of the front cover page and both sides of the back cover page, there are advertisements for Eaton’s department store's soccer supplies.

The handbook was issued exclusively under copyright for The Brunswick-Balke-Collender Co. of Canada, Limited, a company that manufactured various goods. The company had offices in Toronto, Montreal, Winnipeg, Vancouver, and Calgary. The handbook lists various total averages depending on the number of games played up to 90 games. The final pages of the handbook include blank team schedules for varying numbers of teams. The price of the handbook is listed as 75 cents.

Two newsletters and three memos from the Manitoba Turkey Producers’ Marketing Board. The first newsletter was written by R.O. Douglas, Acting Manager of the marketing board on October 3, 1968, in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The newsletter is marked as Volume 1 and discusses the appointment of the Provisional Board and their efforts to get a specific marketing plan approved by the Provincial Government of Manitoba. The second newsletter does not list an author’s name but was written on December 13, 1968, in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The newsletter is marked as Volume 2 and discusses the long-awaited approval of the Manitoba Turkey Producers’ Marketing Board plan by the Provincial Government of Manitoba. After much deliberation, the plan was approved on December 9, 1968, approximately. The first memo does not indicate a specific author, but was written on June 27, 1968, and outlines a general policy statement. The second memo was written by R.O. Douglas on [July 4, 1968], indicating that the Department of Industry "requesting that a representative participate in a press conference." The third memo was written by John Tanchak on July 5, 1968, and reports that those wishing to vote on the marketing plan must be registered as a turkey grower.

It also provides a detailed history of the development of the congregation of St. George’s and the building of the church. The pamphlet is produced “Compliments of W. J. Perepeluk and Family,” likely members of St. George's Congregation.

The interior of the program indicates the order of service, including hymns and recitations. The back cover continues the order of service. Program titled: "Srebrny Jubileusz Kap?a?stwa" which is Polish for: "Silver Jubilee of the Priesthood." Lists the events over the two (2) day celebration of the jubilee, and a menu for a dinner. Also contains five (5) b&w photographs of various Polish churches/monuments in Canada. Front cover is elegantly drawn, with a leaf motif, crosses, grapes and vines, a small house and a boat. Middle of the front cover shows a b&w photograph of a priest through a picture window cut into the front cover. When opened to the second page, the picture is captioned Ad Multos Annos! (Latin for: To many years!) Wiel. O. A. Sylla, O. M. I. Program is entirely written in Polish and Latin.

Envelope postmarked March 5, 1887, addressed to Miss Richardson c/o A. Wickson of 144 Donald Street.  A letter dated March 4, 1887, signed by J. M. Silcot or Silcox on behalf of the congregation of Central Congregational Church in Winnipeg, MB accepting Miss Richardson’s application for membership.  On the reverse is printed the covenant members enter into with the Church.  The letter is printed on cream paper watermarked “A Pirie & Sons 1886” and bears numerous creases.

The cover is blue with two painted photos, one of a herd of cattle and another of a team of three horses, pulling a combine, harvesting wheat. The back cover contains two more painted pictures, one of a herd of sheep and another of a group of men, with large machinery, harvesting wheat. The writing on the back states: "The World’s Highway Across Canada-Excellent Service-Low Colonist Rates-Any agent will gladly furnish particulars."  The book contains information regarding Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba, including the type of crops which grow there, cities and towns in each province, and laws. It also provides instructions on how to begin settling in these areas, township diagrams, railway land regulations, and importation of animals. Contains photographs and maps.

Labelled “Convention Notes” followed by a crest for the National School Service Institute.  The notepad is compliments of Moyer School Supplies Limited with the tagline “Canada’s School Furnishers since 1884.” The sheets are unlined. The first page is a list of names followed by street addresses. Most of the names are women. The following pages are filled with diary entries detailing a trip taken from Winnipeg to California via train over several days in July of an unknown year. The writer is unknown but mentions heavy flooding in Kansas City. The rest of the notebook is blank.
