Correspondence sent to and from SBS in his capacity as Colonel in Command of Military District #10, based at the Fort Osborne Barracks in Winnipeg; includes correspondence with Sam Hughes and others, and includes recommendations and decisions made for filling Canadian Military positions and appointments. One letter concerns a decision handed down regarding Mr. Joseph Watson Taylor’s claim to a land grant based on his services in South Africa. A letter from Sam Hughes questions Steele about various allegations he has heard about Ketchen. Typewritten
