This book contains 100 pages, almost all of which contain letters written during the stated period. All are from the pen of Mcdougall, Everett, who lived in Winnipeg in a rented house at 493 Maryland Street. Most of the letters deal with Mr. Mcdougall's financial problems and his attempts to obtain employment especially with grand Trunk Pacific. He was forthrightly seeking a position as master of one of the company's new steamers. Other letters deal with his attempts to sell, or deal with real estate he owned or for which he had some financial obligation. There are also a number of letters of personal nature to relatives. In all, there must be 60 or 70 copies of letters. His penmanship is not fancy but rather plain and easily read.
