Part of Prairie Ephemera Collection

Compilation of B&W photographs of various spots within Jasper National Park. Photographed by F. H. Slark.

  • This is a long shot of Mount Edith Cavell taken from the unpaved road surrounded by trees showing the mountain in the distance. The back is stamped “Photograph; Canadian National Railway” and contains typewritten and handwritten captions. Photograph is clear but shows strong signs of wear, specifically diagonal folding marks on the right side and dirt stains along the corners.
  • View of Mt. Kerkeslin and Athabasca Falls. Photograph is in good condition but does exhibit signs of wear: there are dirt stains along the corners and the gloss shows heavy handling.
  • Long shot of cabins and trees by the riverside, with the mountains rising behind. Photo is in poor condition; signs of wear include a conspicuous sun mark that affects the exposure on the right side and likely resulted in a pink diagonal mark on the bottom right corner. Photograph shows signs of exposure shrinkage and a fair number of stains throughout, as well as several folding marks.
  • View of a collapsed powerline, with the mountains rising behind. Photograph shows signs of sun exposure and contains various stains and folding marks throughout.
  • View of fallen logs. Photograph shows signs of sun exposure and contains various stains and folding marks throughout.
  • Long shot of three men standing on a large log. They are holding axes and standing triumphantly. Photograph shows signs of sun exposure and contains various stains and folding marks throughout.
