About L.M. Montgomery

This sub-subseries consists of non-fiction books about author L.M. Montgomery and her life, that were collected by Dr. Margaret Mackey and donated to the University of Alberta Libraries. It contains collections of essays on L.M. Montgomery and her works, biographies written by various writers and an autobiography, and books about her life and both written and artistic works.

Activity Books

This sub-subseries consists of various Beatrix Potter and Peter Rabbit themed activity books aimed at children that were collected by Dr. Margaret Mackey and donated to the University of Alberta Libraries. It contains colouring and sticker books, craft books (including cooking, knitting, and gardening crafts), work books, puzzle books, and educational books.

Anne of Green Gables

This sub-subseries consists of books relating to the Anne of Green Gables novel series that were collected by Dr. Margaret Mackey and donated to the University of Alberta Libraries. It contains edited and adapted versions of the original novels, non-fiction books that explore Anne of Green Gables and society, other books within the Anne of Green Gables canon written by L.M. Montgomery and Canadian author Budge Wilson, books relating to the 1985 television mini-series, activity books, scrapbooks, and a pop-up book.

This subseries consists of audiotapes relating to Louisa May Alcott's Little Women collected by Dr. Margaret Mackey and donated to the University of Alberta Libraries. It contains unabridged and abridged cassette tape readings of Little Women.

This subseries consists of audio CDs relating to The Wizard of Oz that were collected by Dr. Margaret Mackey and donated to the University of Alberta Libraries. It contains a CD of music from early adaptations of The Wizard of Oz, and music from the musical Wicked.

It contains two sets of audio CDs, one is a dramatisation of the entire series produced by BBC, and the other is a dramatisation of The Golden Compass, featuring Philip Pullman.

Beatrix Potter and Peter Rabbit

This series consists of materials collected by Dr. Margaret Mackey and donated to the University of Alberta Libraries. It contains diverse representations and interpretations of Beatrix Potter's 1902 book The Tale of Peter Rabbit and its sequels. It contains fictional and non-fiction books in a variety of formats relating to Beatrix Potter and her character Peter Rabbit, a collection of ephemeral materials, video adaptations on DVD and VHS, electronic games and other computer software, audiobooks on cassette tape, and various collectibles. This series consists of the following subseries: Books (1955-2013), Video (1971-2008), Electronic Games and Software (1993-1995), Collectibles (1983-2012), Catalogues (1992-2000), Audio Recordings (1978-1995), Ephemera (1987-2011), and Personal Files (1971-2007).

This subseries consists of books relating to author Philip Pullman and his Dark Materials series of books that were collected by Dr. Margaret Mackey and donated to the University of Alberta Libraries. It contains various versions and editions of the His Dark Materials series, including a graphic novel and supplementary novels. There are also materials relating to the live-action adaptation of the first novel The Golden Compass that include activity books, game guides, magazines, and movie novelizations, and a collection of non-fiction work written about the His Dark Materials series, as well as works relating to the stage-play of the series, including a script and works on the play. This subseries consists of the following sub-subseries: His Dark Materials (1995-2015), The Golden Compass Movie Materials (2007), Other Works by Philip Pullman (1996-2000), Writings on His Dark Materials (2001-2009), and Stage Play Adaptation (2003-2004).

Frank Baum and his novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, that were collected by Dr. Margaret Mackey and donated to the University of Alberta Libraries. It contains various versions and editions of the original book, books written by other authors that are set in or reference the world of Oz, non-fiction books about the Wizard of Oz and its 1939 live-action movie adaptation, or L. Frank Baum, and activity books. This subseries consists of the following sub-subseries: The Wizard of Oz (1934-2012), Related Books (1995-2014), and Non-fiction and Activity Books (1999-2017).

It contains magazine catalogues, website printouts, and handwritten lists; that detail materials such as books, clothes, collectibles (tableware, toiletries, ceramic figures, stationary), and computer software. These catalogues come from Peter Rabbit publisher F. Warne & Co., official Peter Rabbit stores, various stores in Edmonton, AB and the United Kingdom, and other sources.

This subseries consists of various catalogues and similar materials collected by Dr. Margaret Mackey and donated to the University of Alberta Libraries. It contains catalogues for Barbie Dolls, education software, Christmas gifts, and a photocopy of a page containing a list of reviews for TV programs from the Readers' Guide to Periodical Literature.

Collectibles

This subseries consists of small collectibles relating to The Wizard of Oz that were collected by Dr. Margaret Mackey and donated to the University of Alberta Libraries. It contains a package of small Christmas ornaments of the Scarecrow, Lion, Dorothy, and the Tin Man. As well as McDonalds Happy Meal ornaments of Dorothy, Scarecrow, Tin Man, and the Wicked Witch. With all but the Tin Man still in their packaging.

Collectibles

This subseries consists of Beatrix Potter and Peter Rabbit collectibles that were collected by Dr. Margaret Mackey and donated to the University of Alberta Libraries. It contains Peter Rabbit stuffed animals and figures, Peter Rabbit/Beatrix Potter themed Barbie dolls, calender's, sticker collections, bookmarks, containers, clothing, posters, and puzzles.

Collectibles

This subseries consists of Anne of Green Gables and L.M. Montgomery collectibles, collected by Dr. Margaret Mackeyand donated to the University of Alberta Libraries. It contains an Anne of Green Gables wood block doll, Anne of Green Gables themed stickers, and postcards with book covers from L.M. Montgomery books.

This subseries consists of Little Women collectible items collected by Dr. Margaret Mackey and donated to the University of Alberta Libraries. It contains a collection of paper dolls, and a sticker collection.

Conference and University of Alberta Files

This subseries consists of materials relating to the University of Alberta and conferences there that Dr. Margaret Mackey took part in. All of which were collected by Dr. Margaret Mackey and donated to the University of Alberta Libraries. It consists of two pamphlets from the University of Alberta, one dealing with the Graduate Student Association awards night, and one detailing research at the University of Alberta. There are also materials relating to the 1995 conference "Intersecting Disciplines: Issues in Comparative Studies", including: an advertisement flyer, a program, and a paper proposal submitted by Dr. Margaret Mackey on "Cultural Diversity and Learning: Plural Narratives and Consequences for Children". It also contains a banner for "The Commercial Face of Children's Literature: The Commodification of a Classic".

Correspondences

This subseries consists of a sample of Dr. Margaret Mackey's personal correspondences collected and donated to the University of Alberta Libraries. It contains personal correspondences relating to Beatrix Potter and Peter Rabbit, communications with publishers and colleagues, and about presentations. The correspondences are on cards, scrap paper, and email printouts from listservs. Some correspondences were sent with other materials such as articles, and media software (floppy discs).

Course Materials

This subseries consists of course materials for teaching English and post-secondary education English courses, that were collected by Dr. Margaret Mackey and donated to the University of Alberta Libraries. The course materials consist of course planners/guides, activity books and reading lists, most of which relate to education in the United Kingdom.
