Né à Saint-Paul, Alberta, François (Frank) McMahon a étudié au Collège Saint-Jean de 1950 à 1955 puis devient père Oblat de Marie-Immaculée de 1963 à 1973. Il détient un doctorat de l'Université de Montréal. En 1967, François (Frank) a servi comme recteur du Collège Saint-Jean, et ensuite de 1970 à 1980, est devenue le premier doyen du Collège Universitaire Saint-Jean et de la Faculté Saint-Jean.
Born in Saint-Paul, Alberta, François (Frank) McMahon studied at Collège Saint-Jean from 1950 to 1955 and joined the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate from 1963 to 1973. He holds a doctorat from the University of Montreal. In 1967, François (Frank) McMahon first served as Rector of College Saint-Jean and then from 1970 to 1980, as the first dean of the Collège Universitaire and the Saint-Jean faculty.
