        History

        Previously known as the North Alberta Medical Association (1902-1909), the Central Alberta Medical Association's purpose was to advance the science of medicine, medical education, public health and the medical profession and to provide unity within the profession, particularly Edmonton. In 1912 it changes it's name to the Edmonton Medical Society and became a corporate body under the name Edmonton Academy of Medicine in 1920.
