              The letter is from Letellier, Manitoba and dated May 5, 1931. It is signed by Ed Comeault, great great grandfather of professional hockey players Owen Pickering and Denton Mateychuk. Addressed to J. E. Evans Esq. in Walsingham, Ontario and requesting hockey cards to be made from a submitted portrait of the team. It is written on a thick, cloth-like sheet of paper.
              Five of the images from Victoria Beach have been developed as postcards, including the dog and snowy house scenes.

              Collection of photographs chiefly depicting life at 33 Service Flying Training School in Carberry Manitoba, or personnel associated with the unit. The majority of the photographs are unmarked, but three carry handwritten annotations on the back:

              Programs for musical performances given by the personnel at the 33 Service Flying Training School at Carberry, Manitoba. Each program contains a list of cast and orchestra, production credits, the program of the performance itself, and in the two smaller programs, a message from the producer.

              • Personal photo album of R.A.F. student James Newman at the Service Flying Training School near Carberry, Manitoba. Includes photographs documenting his time at the S.F.T.S., travels in the prairies, and later life. Includes a signed 17x12cm photo of the film star Lana Turner, inscribed “To the R.A.F. students at Carberry, Sincerely, Lana Turner.” Also includes a photo of the base coat of arms for the College of Arms, inscribed “Approved George R.I.” Some photographs are captioned, and include names.

              Plus 10 photos and other assorted documents in a pocket at the back:

              • 2 Christmas 1943 cards with cats flying propeller planes at the front, addressed to the Gold Coast Squadron from the Peoples of the Gold Coast Colony, Ashanti and Northern Territories, British West Africa.

              Monthly magazine of the 33 Service Flight Training School, based in Carberry, Manitoba. Present here are the issues from May, July, Sept., Oct., Nov. and Dec. 1943. Contains editorials, stories, photographs, cartoons, and reports for the purposes of informing and entertaining base personnel. Topics that feature prominently are military life and administration, as well as sporting events.

              A collection of 27 invoices and receipts addressed to Donald McFadden regarding purchases related to his truck and other automobiles, made from the following businesses in 1967: ESSO; Stratford-Frame Agencies Ltd; Central Auto Parts Company Limited; Canadian Propane Consolidated Ltd.; Shell Canada; Texaco Canada Inc.; Don Gamble Ltd.; Hastings Motors Ltd.; and Brandon Automobiles Ltd.

              Invoices and receipts span the period of time from 26 January 1967 to 12 November 1967. Purchases largely consisted of fuel, oil, and general automobile maintenance services, insurance, and parts for Donald McFadden's GMC 960 truck. Some purchases were made for his Ford 300 and Ford 500 cars.

              Additionally includes 3 handwritten notes titled "GMC 960 - Credit Card Exp. - Gas - Oil" (dated 21 Feb. 1967), "Truck Licence - Ford 300 Licence - Also Ford 500" (undated), and "4 gal. gas - 960" (dated 16 Nov. 1967).

              The album leaves devoted to the camp are preceded by about 26 photos illustrating the trajectory to the camp and succeeded by approximately 114 photos of Vancouver. The locations depicted in the photos include: New York City; Moncton, New Brunswick; Carberry, Manitoba; Brandon, Manitoba; various locations within Winnipeg; the Rockies (Jasper, Banff, AB); Regina, Saskatchewan; Vancouver, BC; Calgary, AB; Drumheller, AB; Montreal, Quebec. Photographs of the camp include aerial views of the camp, the Carberry coat of arms, images of activities on base, images of cafeterias and technical stores in the camp, personnel photographs, harvest in Carberry, and images of the town.
