Letters sent to Colonel Steele, re: acquiring a sculptor to create a monument erected to the members of Lord Strathcona's Horse who fell in action in South Africa, for placement in Calgary. Includes an explanatory letter from SBS describing the horses used by LSH (and with the NWMP and Canadian Mounted Rifles).

Correspondence from SBS's brother-in-law (Auguste); various matters but includes a discussion about the design of a statue to honor the role of the LSH during the South African War, attached sketches and news clipping.

A handwritten page of an incomplete letter written by Roger Pocock probably to a family member; on this page Roger describes the winter landscape, discusses his sketching, and talks about the sound of "retreat" at sunset.

Accession consists of an inventory of the Catharine Robb Whyte Collection. Whyte was a Banff artist, outdoor enthusiast, traveler and philanthropist.

Fonds consists of the personal and professional papers of Annora Brown, and includes correspondence, scrapbooks, sketches, reviews, clippings, reference materials and photographs. The majority of the materials date from 1926 to 1982, and were donated in one accession (UAA-1982-116).
