              Newspaper clippings of a weekly article in the [Red River Valley Echo] titled “Pioneer Portrait of the Past.” Each numbered article includes a short biography of a Manitoba pioneer family and an image of the articles’ subjects. The articles have been cut from the newspaper and pasted non-chronologically on scrap book pages. Either Lawrence Klippenstein or Elizabeth Bergen authored each article.

              A pamphlet titled “Bacterial Ring Rot of Potatoes” by N. Shenderevich, a research assistant, and E.T. Andersen, Associate Professor of Horticulture at the University of Manitoba. The pamphlet is from the Extension Service of the Department of Agriculture and Immigration in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The stamp on the cover page indicates that the pamphlet is from the Office of the Agricultural Representative in Altona, Manitoba. The pamphlet provides information about how ring rot affects potatoes, how it spreads, and control methods for preventing the spread.

              Two duplicate pamphlets titled “Beware These Perennial Weeds” by H. A. Craig, the Secretary of the Manitoba Weeds Commission. The pamphlets are listed as Publication No. 224 and were published in July 1949 by the Manitoba Department of Agriculture and Immigration in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The pamphlets provide information and illustrations of various perennial weeds common in Manitoba. One the cover of one of the pamphlets, there is a blue stamp for the Office of the Agricultural Representative in Altona, Manitoba.

              Leader’s Handbook published by the Canadian Council on Boys’ and Girls’ Club Work in Ottawa, Ontario. The handbook is meant for volunteer leaders of Girl and Boy Scout troops. The handbook covers topics such as local club organization, first steps in forming a new club, responsibilities of officers, committees, and members, special community activities, programme planning, parent interest, and common parliamentary procedure among others. There are several B&W photographs throughout the handbooks as well as an illustration of the National Crest. On the first page of the handbook is a blue stamp from the Office of the Agricultural Representative in Altona, Manitoba.
